Experience. Or the same year, repeated?

Somewhere on LinkedIn right now, someone’s typing: “After 18 years in the industry…”

And you already know what’s coming. “The journey has been full of learnings, challenges and self-discovery.”

Self-discovery? You weren’t on a soul-searching trek in the Himalayas. You were renaming a deck FINAL_FINAL at 11:58 p.m. because someone’s gut said the boss might not vibe with Slide 14.

Then there’s the classic: “Years of hustling, sleepless nights and sacrifices.” Relax. You built insomnia and a caffeine addiction.

And my favourite: “The journey has been tough, but I wouldn’t change a thing.” Really? Not even the quick call that spent 11 minutes explaining why something that needed two minutes wasn’t finished?

Respect to the people who actually grew, evolved and delivered.

But 15 years of doing the same thing the same way? That’s not experience. That’s what is called being consistent.

Longevity means very little if your work still needs three follow-ups and a passive-aggressive “Hi, just checking :)”.

And nothing screams stagnation like a 20-year career and still not knowing how to export a PDF.

Which reminds me… can someone please tell me how to print this page as a PDF on my ridiculously over-specified phone?
