Everyone’s a philosopher. Until the client calls.
Every time I open LinkedIn, it feels like everyone’s auditioning for a TED Talk. It’s like ChatGPT handed out free mics and said, “Go forth and inspire.”
One day they’re complaining about a client or a colleague at the bar. Next day they’re “thought leaders”.
Every post sounds like: “Sometimes you don’t find success… success finds you. After you find ChatGPT.”
Fine. Here’s my thought leadership post.
Don’t get me wrong. Some folks actually make sense. I love reading real experiences, honest learnings, even failures. That stuff’s gold.
But the rest? Endless posts about grind and purpose. Corporate poetry ending with lines like “Consistency is key.” Yes. So is doing your actual job.
We’ve built an entire ecosystem of people who can’t deliver work but can sure deliver sermons.
Here’s my two paise take: whatever you do, do it bloody well.
Because at the end of the day, inspirational or not, paying work trumps all. Nothing says inspiration quite like an invoice paid on time.
Which reminds me… I should get back to work.
